Psalm 34:15 ‘The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.’

DAILY READING; Romans 7; 1 Samuel 16; Psalm 61

On June 18, 2016, The New York Post and other major News media reported the story of a mother in Colorado who saved her son from a lion.
The ordeal started Friday evening when the 5-year-old and his older brother were playing outside their home near the resort town of Aspen.
Suddenly, their mother heard them screaming! She raced to her front yard to find a terrifying sight: A mountain lion was hunched over her 5-year-old son, biting him, while the boy was struggling to get free.
The woman charged art the animal, yanked away one of its paws and pulled at her son’s head which was inside the lion’s mouth. She didn’t back down.
The mother grabbed the lion’s mouth and pried it open, freeing the boy. She then scooped him up and began running. She was able to escape with her two sons to safety.
fortunately at that moment, her husband had just returned from his evening run. He called 911 as they got into the car and sped to the hospital.
The boy was treated for deep cuts to his head, face and neck. The mother suffered bite marks on her hand and scratches on her leg.
This woman was hailed as a hero, by the media for her courage and quick action that contributed to saving her son’s life.
Indeed she had been so overcome by maternal instincts that she fiercely fought to save her son’s life despite the danger to her own life.

Motherhood is often used in the Scriptures to illustrate God’s tenacious love and protection for His children.
God says in Isaiah 49:15-17 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!’
God reacts to our distress cry as a mother reacts to her precious child. Every parent knows a distress cry from their children and once they hear it, everything else is dropped and that child receives priority attention. That’s how God feels about us.
When He hears our cry, He reacts violently against whatever may be troubling us.
David says in Psalm 18:6-9 ‘In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth… He bowed the heavens also, and came down:

God will always arise to defend us and deliver us .
However, we also know that there are times we sometimes cry and do not seem to get an immediate answer from Heaven. What happens those times when we may feel alone, abandoned and forgotten?

The truth is that God is always too faithful to fail us. When we are intimately relating to Him as His sons and daughters and walking in obedience to His Word, God will always answer us each time we call upon Him.
But if we are separated from Him through spiritual ignorance, negligence or sin, then it may appear as if our cries are not being heard.
Isaiah 59:1 -2 says ‘Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.’
Iniquities and unrighteousness can block our prayers from reaching to Heaven.
Therefore as we fast and pray , let us ensure our prayers are gaining access to God by checking our spiritual positions. As sons of God we are required to maintain a lifestyle of diligent study of Scriptures, fervent prayers, passionate worship and prompt obedience to divine instructions.
As we rightly occupy our place as God’s children, surely He will hear our prayers and answer us speedily with amazing miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to live as Your child by always walking in line with Your Word. As I pray in this season, I thank You Lord for hearing me quickly and answering me speedily in Jesus Name.
