Psalm 20 1 [NIV] ‘May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.’
DAILY READING; • Acts 26:1-18; Ruth 3-4; Psalm 48
Hermilo Jasso is a professor at Lee University, a private Christian university in Cleveland, Tennessee.
In 2007, he accompanied 30 students to China as part of a cultural exchange program. But a few days after their arrival, he had to be rushed to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain. Doctors discovered that his appendix had ruptured and poisons were already coursing through his body. The case appeared so hopeless that they advised Hermilo Jasso to prepare to die.
Though devastated by the sudden news, Hermilo held on to faith in God, even as the Christian students who had come with him to China, prayed earnestly for his healing.
As Hermillo’s body went into convulsions and it seemed death was near, an amazing thing happened. Suddenly, another doctor came in, and said he believed Hermillo’s case was not hopeless and said he would immediately operate on him.
Around this same time in America, Hermlllo’s father who was a pastor, was about to preach when he felt overwhelmingly burdened to pray for his son. He had no idea about what was happening in China but stopped his preaching and rallied the congregation to pray for his son.
Miraculously, Hermilo’s surgery was successful and his life was saved. He later found out that the doctor who had operated on him was named Dr. Liu and was regarded as the best doctor in China at the time.
This doctor then told Hermillo that he had come looking for him because two mysterious strangers had come to his office and directed him to go and take care of one Professor Jasso who was a very important person.
Hermillo was amazed because he didn’t know anyone in China.
Jasso was even more amazed when Dr. Liu explained to him why he didn’t die. The doctor said that his lower intestine had wrapped around the ruptured appendix so tightly that it stopped poisonous fluids from coming into his abdomen. Dr. Liu said he had never seen such in his 20 years of medical practice.
No doubt, the power of prayers had prompted amazing Heavenly intervention that saved Hermilo Jasso’s life.
Indeed God works wonders through prayers.
No matter how formidable any situation, through the power of prayer you can change the tide of the battle in your favor.
We serve the God of excessive power, excessive grace, and excessive might. There is no problem, trouble, situation or circumstance that God cannot handle.
Any time you face what seems an insurmountable mountain, do not panic. Don’t think that it is the end of the road. As long as you can keep your focus on God’s Word, be assured that help is on the way. God knows how to orchestrate miracles in ways and manners that exceeds our every imagination.
In God, we have an immovable rock that we can always run to.
Even when nothing seems to be happening outwardly, as you keep praying, God is moving mountains and orchestrating situations to bring forth your miracle. Therefore despite any discouraging circumstance, don’t quit praying, don’t quit believing. Surely, God will send you help from Zion, even people you don’t know will come to your aid.
Psalm 20 1 [NIV] says ‘May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.’
As we wait upon the Lord in this season we can expect Heavenly support and angelic interventions.
As we spend time in fasting and praying, whatever may seem to be missing in our health, finances or relationships, there will be a speedy recovery of them all.
Our investments in fasting and praying will never be in vain. Let us therefore praise God because it is our time to experience a sudden shift in our circumstances, we shall indeed see supernatural turnarounds, inexplicable miracles, speedy divine deliverances and overflow of abundant blessings.
PRAYER Lord I thank You for Your grace being released to me to experience divine deliverance and restoration in this season of fasting and praying. You are forever faithful and You never fail. I know that even right now You are perfecting all that concerns me in Jesus Name.
