Psalm 30:11-12 ‘You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.’ [Amplified Bible]
DAILY READING; Matthew 27:1-31; Deuteronomy 5-6; Job 6
In the Siberian region of Russia, on February 29, 1992, a 17-year-old girl, gave birth to a disabled baby, Jessica. The baby had a condition known as fibular hemimelia, which left her without fibulas, ankles, heels, and most of the bones in her feet. Because of these difficult circumstances, her birth mother decided to place the infant in a nearby orphanage for adoption.
Half a world away in America , Steve and Beth Long were praying for guidance, towards adoption. After, praying, the Longs felt led to adopt children with special needs. Steve traveled to eastern Russia in 1993, and adopted 13-month-old Jessica, whom he brought back home to America.
At 18 months, Jessica endured surgery to amputate her malformed lower legs below the knees, Jessica was fitted for prosthetic legs, which enabled her to walk.
But as Jessica grew older she felt a lot of anger at being born disabled and then being given up for adoption.
Moreover, living life as an amputee was very hard for her. But being brought up in a Christian family, she eventually learned to hand over her life to God, and trust Him to help her.
God indeed helped Jessica. As a child, Jessica began participating in a number of sports and especially loved swimming in the pool. At age 10, she joined a swim team and started competing. In 2004— just two years later—Jessica was a Paralympic champion. Her first three Paralympic medals came at the tender age of 12 years, at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens.
Amazingly, she had gone from novice to best in the world in the blink of an eye.
But that was just the beginning. More gold medals were to come at the Beijing Paralympics in 2008 and London in 2012.
Today, Jessica Long is one of the most accomplished swimmers in US history, with 17 Paralympic medals including 12 golds.
She did later meet and reconcile with her biological mother and her biological father and realized that God had worked everything together for her good.
The help of God does exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ever ask or imagine.
From a frustrated young girl living a hard life as an amputee, God marvelously helped Jessica Long to arrive at the world stage.
Marvelous help will always generate marvelous strength. When strengthened through Christ, we can do all things. Through the help of God, we are able to achieve what others find impossible to accomplish.
Looking at this year, truly, God has marvelously helped us.
Many of us, stepped out, unsure of what the year held, but by trusting in the Lord, He is bringing us to a flourishing end.
Despite all the peculiar problems of this year; here we are today, seeing the last month of this year.
God has shielded us from the rage of the enemy and preserved us from the waves of the storm. Despite all that we passed through, this year didn’t see our end, rather we are seeing its end.
Indeed we have so much to be thankful to God for. God fought our battles known and unknown. In every challenge, He made us more than conquerors and continually gave us the victory over the plans of the wicked.
Therefore, it is time to deliberately give God worthy praise. It was not by our power or might, it was not by our wisdom or intelligence, it was not by our hard work or smartness, it was only because of the Lord’s mercies that we were not consumed. His mercies remain new every morning and even in this new month, His amazing mercies continue to speak for us.
In this month of December, God will crown the year for us with good things. And because every divine agenda speaks loudest at the end, as the year ends, be prepared for sudden prophetic fulfillments of God’s promises. It doesn’t matter how the year may have started, be assured that God is bringing it to a beautiful conclusion for you.
Certainly, by God’s grace, in this season, we will be receiving marvelous help. God will send destiny helpers to locate us. His divine favor is going to thrust us high to surpass every expectation.
Therefore in every situation, let us look unto our God for His divine help. It is the help of God that wins the battle of life. In II Chronicles 20:1-24 King Jehoshaphat engaged God’s help through praise, God arose and won impossible battles for them.
Likewise, as we praise God in this season, surely, we shall see victory on every side and every mourning shall be turned into dancing for us.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your great and amazing doings in my life this year. You are indeed the God of wonders! And as I praise You today, I know You are set to do yet more amazing things in my life in this crowning month of the year in Jesus Name. ..
