Psalm 119:130 “The entrance of Thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple’.
DAILY READING ; 2 Thessalonians 2; Isaiah 27-28; Psalm 118
On the night of May 1, 2011, the sky was moonless as two Black Hawk helicopters flew toward a walled compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A power outage that drenched the city in blackness, further made the conditions perfect for the Navy SEAL team’s operation that night. No one detected the 23 Navy SEALs as they fast-roped from the helicopter to the ground. Under the cover of darkness, they crept toward the home of the world’s most wanted man and stormed inside. The goal: kill or capture Osama bin.
It took the team just 38 minutes to blast its way into bin Laden’s bunker, annihilate him and complete their operation.
This operation code named ‘Operation Neptune Spear’, was the culmination of years of calculated planning and training. It would become one of U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six’s most successful operations. The ability to see in the dark made it possible.
The American intelligence had planned the attack on Bin Laden with the lunar cycle and scheduled it to be on a night that would be moonless. The conditions were also enhanced by a power outage that threw the city into total darkness. While the darkness hindered others from seeing, the Navy seal team used night-vision devises to see clearly and carry out their operation.
Due to its unmatched night-vision technology, for decades, the U.S. military has prided itself on “owning the night”
Normally at night, an army’s fighting ability is reduced to about 10 percent because of the darkness, but the US often uses Night Vision Devices to a great advantage to conduct operations at night unhindered by the darkness.
During the Gulf war of 1990, night-vision devices were declared the “single greatest mismatch” that gave US military undue advantage and victory over Iraq.
Indeed light gives advantage in warfare.
In spiritual warfare we gain advantage over the enemy by operating by the light of God’s Word. At a time when the whole world lies in darkness, God’s Word will be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
Isaiah 60:2-3 says ‘For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee’
While people in the world are hindered by darkness, and cannot see their way forward, through the light of God’s Word, we will always know what to do and shall continue to move forward. Our path like a shining light, will be brighter and brighter.
To enjoy the dominion of light, we must continually connect to God’s Word because it is the entrance of His Word that gives light.
Psalm 119:130 says “The entrance of Thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple’.
God’s Word is our source of divine light. When we are full of God’s Word, our light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it. In other words, the forces of darkness can never overcome us. We become an impossible case that they cannot handle. Therefore whatever trial or challenge you may face today, through the light of God’s Word, you can have the dominion. Indeed light and darkness can never struggle for right of place.
In this new month of July, let us constantly allow God’s Word to gain entrance into our hearts and minds. As we diligently study the Word, our lives will be flooded with the light of revelation.
As this divine light dominates our lives, we will have the advantage and victory over every challenge.
Truly, the light of God’s Word will greatly distinguish us in these last days. As the gross darkness covers the earth, we shall arise and shine, because our light has come.
PRAYER: Lord, as I study Your Word please grant me the revelations I need to live in dominion and walk in victory. In this new month of July, I thank You Lord for illuminating my life with Your glory in Jesus name.
