Proverbs 24:16 ‘For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.’
DAILY READING; 2 Thessalonians 2; Isaiah 27-28; Psalm 118
When World War II ended in May 1945, it left many Jews devastated.
In some parts of Europe entire Jewish communities had been wiped out.
For instance, before the war about 3.5 million Jews lived in Poland, which was the largest Jewish community in Europe. But after the war, only about two hundred and fifty thousand Jews were left alive, about 93 percent of that population had perished.
In all of Europe, over 7 million Jews had lived in thriving communities before the war, but at the end of the war only approximately 1.5 million Jews remained alive.
Even those who survived were left physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted. They had been living in terror and fear. For 6 years of the war, some had been languishing in Hitler’s death camps, while others had been living in hiding.
To worsen matters, after the war, many of the surviving Jews on returning back to their towns encountered virulent anti-Semitism from the local populations. In Poland more than 1,000 Jews were killed during the first year after the war. Also many of the Jews found that their old homes had been taken over by other people.
Broken, homeless and devastated it indeed seemed the Jews had come to the end of the road.
However, despite their tragedy, they held on to God’s promises of restoration in the Bible..
One of such prophesies in Amos 9:14,15 says “I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; …I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.’
With faith in God’s promises, many Jews began to migrate back to their ancient homeland in Palestine. Though the Arabs who were occupying the land and the British government who controlled the region, tried to restrict their access, the Jews found ways to legally and illegally enter the land.
With their return an incredible miracle of restoration began to take place. Through agricultural innovations, they turned the sandy desert lands of Palestine into a blossoming fruitful land.
In 1948 the Jews would fight for and win their war of independence leading to the emergence of the modern nation of Israel.
Though the Jews virtually lost everything after World War 2, today, they have indeed experienced a great recovery. Through God’s help, they have risen from their ashes to be counted among the top nations of the world.
Indeed it is never over until God says so.
It doesn’t matter how far you may have fallen or what you may have lost, through God’s help you can always bounce back and recover all.
One day the Amalekites swept down on the home of King David and his men, burning everything and taking their families captive. David and his men lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
However, despite this tragedy, David did something remarkable, he sought the face of God and God told Him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all,”.
In obedience to God’s Word, David and his men went after the enemy, eventually overtook them and indeed recovered all.
Likewise, we can always recover every lost ground, by doing what David did.
No matter the loss, we should always strengthen ourselves in the Lord and follow His Word.
Today, no matter what you may have lost in your health, finance or relationships, be assured that through God’s help, you can have complete recovery and bounce back even better.
Despite the setback, you are going to have an amazing comeback. Don’t ever give up, keep trusting God’s promises.
Certainly, you shall rise again.
A knock down, only becomes a knock out, if you stay down and refuse to get up.
Proverbs 24:16 says that though the righteous may fall seven times, yet they will rise again.
Certainly, you can rise better and greater from any situation. And if perhaps, you feel like you have wasted time or even years of your life, be assured that God can give you divine recovery of every lost time..
God is the creator of time and He knows how to compress it in your favor.
In Joel 2:25 God promises to restore to us the years that the canker worm has eaten…
Joel 2:26 says You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame”.
Certainly, by God:s grace we shall never be put to shame.
Therefore, in this second half of the year, let us be expectant of great things. It is certainly our season to truly see God’s wonders as we pursue to overtake and recover all.
PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to pay the price of spending quality time in Your Word so that my faith can be strengthened to pursue, overtake and recover every lost ground. I thank You Lord for indeed exceeding all my expectations in Jesus Name.
